I want to thank everyone who was able to come to our January meeting!! We had a great turnout and a really good time. Sandy did a wonderful job of demonstrating some of the techniques involved with using Tunisian Crochet. Many of the members present jumped right in and tried out this new technique.
We also discussed the recent changes in our meeting place situation. AC Moore has had to change the room rental fee for the classroom we use each month. After looking over other options I made the decision for us to continue to meet at AC Moore. If you are able to help with the additional cost (we went from paying $10 to $49.99) there will be a small box at the refreshment table. If you choose to put in a couple dollars that would be helpful but it is not a requirement by any means. I have decided that we are not going to venture into the realm of membership dues. I want anyone and everyone interested in crochet to feel free to come without the requirement of paying.
This month Catherine will be demonstrating a great way to recycle plastic grocery bags into crocheted rugs. If you would like to participate during the demonstration, Catherine has provided a short list of supplies you will need:
1. A sharp pair of scissors
2. Size Q Crochet hook
3. As many plastic bags as you would like to bring
I look forward to seeing everyone at this month's meeting which will be on February 22nd at 6pm so please mark your calendars!!
